I am excellent at tuning out any and every kind of outside noise. Particularly my husband and kids. I learned how to do it at a very young age out of self defense. When I was nine, my baby twin sisters were born and that bumped our family of four kids up to a family of six in a hurry! Not only that, but all six of us shared a bedroom. When the twins went through the "crying-it-out" stage, guess who had to learn how to go to sleep with two screaming babies in the room... I got
real good at tuning things out... Shane is constantly getting on to me because the kids will be talking to me or trying to ask me a question and I just don't hear them.
Anyway, tonight my two boys were talking in the living room while I was cooking dinner. I had been completely in la-la land, but I tuned in to hear their conversation, which I thought was about the animals that they had been watching on some Animal Planet show.
G: "Well, they might eat us. I think that we might be pretty tasty."
H: "No one eats humans. We are really gross."
G "I don't think that animals think that we taste gross. I think that we are just meat."
H: "I know that we taste gross. One time, I tasted Landry's tongue. I can tell you that it was gross!"
