His first practice they started him out on the pitcher's mound. Every time a ball was hit, every one of his teammates would run after the ball while he stood there and watched with his arms crossed. Then they moved him back to second base and he did the same thing. Shane finally went out to check on him and he had a toy in his glove that he was playing with while everyone else was running for the ball. After that he was moved to catcher. He is playing catcher because he gets to wear a helmut. For his first game, he got to put on all of the pads and he thought that was pretty cool too. Shane took him to opening day at the Rangers ballpark and ever since then he has been very enthusiastic about the game and his position.

YEAH!!!
Hayden has not shown the slightest interest in using the big boy potty. I have tried and tried believe me! Our current budget must allow for around $20 a week in dipes and wipes. I am ready to have all Mize children pee-peeing in the potty! Anyway, one morning this week I asked Hayden, as I do every morning, "Do you want to go pee-pee in the potty?" And he shocked me by answering, "Yes!" We rushed to the bathroom and he went!!! He has gone every morning since! I would say that it has been fairly successful except that his aim is a little off... Oh well, we can work on that!

Ninja Man
So last night, Shane had the younger kids while I went to pick up Grace from gymnastics. Grace and I had just walked in the door, and she headed to her and Gib's room and found Gibson hiding behind the door and meticulously coloring his body green with one of her markers. Of course she screamed, and then dragged her brother into the living room still screaming about how everyone is always in her things. Shane took one look at him and for once was not the calm one. He asked him what he thought he was doing and Gibson answered, "I'm a ninja man!" Shane lost his mind and sent him straight to me. (Evidently, Gibson had asked earlier if dad would help him be a ninja man and dad said he didn't think that it was a very good idea.) By this time, Gibson was in tears and crying about how Grace has all of the cool things and he has nothing. After an hour in the tub and nearly a half of a bar of soap, Gib's hands were still a faint shade of blue. Gibson told his teacher at school per his instructions from dad that "he did not listen very well to his dad."

The end-er...
You would think from looking at this picture that our 4th child would be sweet and innocent and very laid back - and you would be wrong! This little curly headed, sweet, pixie child can hold her own against her siblings and usually comes out on top!
Last night, she and Hayden had been playing, but she was done and sat done to watch tv. Hayden was not done and was trying to get her to chase him. (Hayden has a tendency to be a bit of a baby and if someone looks at him wrong he is crying and tattling.) He was pestering Landry and she was ignoring him. He pushed her a couple of times and finally knocked her completely over twice. She never said a word to him or anyone else. She got up and toddled down the hallway into the boy's room and picked up a bat. Of course, Hayden chased her down the hall and when he caught up with her, she bopped him right in the head with the bat! He stood there crying as she calmly toddled back down the hallway and plopped back down to watch her show. She is a girl that is not yet two, and knows how to take care of herself!

Melts my heart!
I know that I have posted quite a bit about my crazy son, Gibson, and his crazy antics that sometimes frustrate me to no end, but today I have a different one. That boy, for all of his quirks is a sweet, romantic little dude who can melt my heart in one instant! He is always checking on me to make sure that I am ok and he is constantly bringing me flowers. He picks them out of the yard, out of other people's yards, and if we are at the store is always asking if I want to pick up some flowers for myself. We were at Sam's the other day and I was looking at some Gerber daisies and he said, "You should get some Mom. I think that you really need them!" Some little girl is going to have her hands full with him someday, but she will not wonder if she is loved!
