Circus part II

I was trying to get all of my pictures to upload to my blog and they were having a hard time. Here were the rest of them. 

Gib and Grace also rode a camel. Gibson kept asking, "What is that thing?!"  Grace said it was a little bumpy...

Since Big Terry is a Shriner, he got us into the circus for free. Thanks Pa!

I have a couple more pictures, but Blogger is not letting me load them! The kids had a great time and I had a wonderful time watching them enjoy the show so much. Sometimes as an adult, I forget how new and exciting everything is for them as a little kid. Gibson saw his first camel ever, and they both can now say that they have ridden an elephant.

Circus, Circus, Circus!

While Shane is out of town on his annual tour of conferences, I took the older two kids to the Shriner's Circus this afternoon. Hayden and Landry stayed home since the circus happened during their naptime. We had lots of fun and this circus was great! We went to the Barnum and Bailey circus a few years ago and I was not very impressed. This circus had all kinds of stuff. The acts were fast paced and exciting including the high wire act, motorcycles, elephants, a guy who could fold himself into a tiny box, gymnasts, trapeze artists and a husband/wife team that performed (I don't know what to call it...) arial gymnastics (?) on ropes and long pieces of fabric. The kids had a great time.

They got to ride the elephant. Gibson kept saying, "I never got to ride a elephant before!"

A new cousin

We were sitting in the car on the way home from school. Grace was singing at the top of her lungs in the back seat. Gibson told me a couple of times that Grace was, in his words, "driving me nuts!" He asked her to stop singing a couple of times and finally looked at me and said, "I think I need a new tousin!" I asked him who he was going to get rid of since he only has two cousins, Cole and Corbin. He looked at me very seriously for a minute and said, "Grace."

Gracie's first meet

Grace had her first meet last weekend. I think that I was more nervous than she was! I was very proud of her. She got a little nervous, but nothing like I thought that she might. We fixed her hair that morning and sprayed an enormous amount of hairspray to keep it from going anywhere. She had a great time and I think that she is hooked on gymnastics for a while!

One of life's questions...

How is it that when it is bedtime our kids are the most sweet and loving to each other? They can be horrible little monsters until about 10 minutes before bed and then they turn into these wonderful little angels that love each other and say and do the cutest things. Dad usually falls for it. Normally, I give them all a kiss and send them straight to bed. The other night was one of these nights. Shane called me into our room where the kids were all laying on the bed together and then of course started clowning around for the camera. I once read a quote, "If you think that the art of conversation is dead, tell a child to go to bed."

Sisters

Gracie is so sweet with Landry. She is constantly carrying her around, getting her things, playing with her, and generally treating Landry as her personal baby doll. Of course, Landry eats every bit of it up and follows Grace everywhere. The other day, Gracie had Landry pick out a book and they sat and read it together. I can hardly get Landry to sit still for five seconds to get her diaper on and off, but she sat and read her book with her big sister for quite awhile. I think they read it all the way through two or three times. I hope that they are always this close...
