Switchfoot

Gibson loves rock and roll. He recently discovered the band Switchfoot and LOVES them. Shane got online and found that they were playing in Abilene, so he and Gibson got tickets and made a guys weekend of it. They headed out to Abilene and met up with Pawpaw for dinner, then headed to the concert. Of course Gib got the t-shirt, stickers, and poster to deck out his room and then they headed to their seats. They started out way in the back and Gib couldn't see anything very well, so Shane moved him to the front, found a sympathetic security guard and they jammed out in the front for the rest of the night.

Rockin' out with his new shirt.

This is him in the back...

This was the new spot... They were so close, that at one point, the lead singer headed out into the first couple of rows during one of the songs and Gib reached out and touched him. He kept telling me, "I actually touched him!" He also was able to get a guitar pick that they handed out. He had a great time!

The concert was Sunday night, so Monday Gib and Dad skipped school and headed over to good ole HSU. They hit up the bookstore and brought home new shirts for everyone.

Gibson also hung out in the SUB and had lunch with all of the students. Our future HSU student will fit in just fine as long as the SUB keeps serving chicken nuggets!

How fun!!! What a great father-son trip! Man, hearing you talk about the SUB brought back many memories! I haven't been to Abilene in a LONG time!!
